Jeju Special Self-Governing Province announced that it has designated 233 orchards for the stable production and shipment of young citrus fruits for 2026. The designated young citrus fruit shipment orchards by region consist of 117 farms and 182 plots covering 614,624 square meters in Jeju City, and 116 farms and 154 plots covering 441,147 square meters in Seogwipo City, totaling 233 farms, 336 plots, and 1,055,771 square meters. This represents a 60.6% increase compared to the 145 orchards designated last year. In particular, this year's expected shipment volume of young citrus fruits is estimated to be around 1,174 tons, a 49.9% increase from last year's shipment volume of 783 tons. The province is conducting "pre-shipment orchard management education" for young citrus fruits to ensure consumers can purchase Jeju young citrus fruits with peace of mind, and has made compliance with pesticide safety use standards mandatory. Farmers are also supported with costs for purchasing young citrus fruit-specific packaging boxes, residual pesticide safety inspection fees, and delivery and logistics fees.
